Pumping it Up for the Holidays
So the holidays are approaching and this is one of the hardest times I believe for myself to stay in gear to eat healthy or at least moderately. I find that Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Years are about getting together with family around a table filled with delicious, well prepared meals that are never ending. I think that during this time, moderately eating is the key! Enjoy that one slice of turkey with a small scoop of mashed potatoes and gravy and load up on the veggies! Top it off with a sliver of pumpkin pie and remember it is better to eat your calories than to drink them. But drink plenty of fluids to have it fill you up before you dive into the food and go hang out with the kids that are running and playing instead of sitting around the kitchen where the temptations are. Remember the Holidays are a time for family and gathering together to enjoy the season and if you are going to go overboard, just remember to go over board with spending time with loved ones and not overboard on loading your plate! Enjoy!
